Down Dogs: Traditional and Personal

Updated: Dec 22, 2024

Downward Facing Dog is essential yoga pose. There is many ways to modify it to make it feel better. We can ease into it by bending the knees and lifting the heels. After doing it for 25+years this pose became a playground for me in my personal private practice, I am happily hyperextending my already naturally hyperextended elbows and over flexing shoulders, reminiscing my ballet training by getting on my toes, sometimes putting the crown of the head on the ground. But we always have to start with a proper alignment.
