Holiday rush hour. How to un-rush yourself?

“Why do they call it rush hour when nothing moves?” — Robin Williams

The holiday season is about OVER doing staff. Overgifting, overeating, overstimulation of the senses... You may feel that you are becoming unbalanced and angry, or fatigued and detached from yourself. Yoga helps us to come back to our natural balanced self.

Tip #1 - Equalize yorself with simple breathing technique

Breathe in for 6 seconds and breathe out for 6 seconds for 3 minutes. Only 15 cycles like that, and you will be much more peaceful.

Tip #2 - Ground yourself with a LIST.

If your mind are racing about deadlines, gifts, kids, spouses, parents, in-lawas, obligations and guilt trips, make a list of things that YOU want. You may never have them, but it feels good to give them a shape and a form.

You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection. ~Buddha

Tip #3 - Personal guilty pleasures of mine

Vinyasa Flow yoga class and hot BATH!

Tip #4 - Stretch!

There are many stretching technigues. Passive, actve, dynamic... Pick what you like. My favorite stretch for the spine is — interlace hands, turn your palms away from you and then up towards the ceiling, lift your shoulders towards your ears, say:"Ahhhhh..."

Tip #5 - Make noise with your voice!

Vocalization can make you elated. Just a simple humming will do. Hmmmmmm.

Remember, the holiday rush will pass, and you''ll be back to your routine. Your yoga mat will be waiting for you. #PrivateYogaOnZoom #Asana
